The slightly unconventional
story of Misty Cove

Born in Europe, rooted in Marlborough, never quite by the book.

Chapter I

52°22′N — 4°54′E · Amsterdam

A slightly
unconventional start

Misty Cove was born the wrong way round. The brand was created in the Netherlands and built a following across Europe before it ever set down roots in New Zealand — reverse-engineering the whole thing, building the thirst before the supply.

We have never been afraid to challenge the idea that wine has to be serious. Bold, eye-catching labels. An easy-going, no-pretension attitude. And one mantra we have kept from the very start.

Chapter II

the only rule

Wine for
good times

Innovation and quality are our two guiding pillars — but the point of it all is simpler than that. We have always believed wine is best enjoyed with friends and family, for good times.

That belief shapes everything from the label to the last drop: wine you reach for on a Tuesday and wine you save for something — often the same bottle.

Chapter III

the makers

Manu
& Nicky

South African-born, French-trained Emmanuel — "Manu" — keeps the old-school philosophy: get the grapes right and let nature take its course. Small-batch, hands-on, forever experimenting with technique and new varietals.

North Canterbury-raised Nicky Parish is the logistical mastermind — the lab work, the precision, the unseen scaffolding that turns a good idea into a great wine. Artistry and practicality, in the right measure.

Chapter IV

41°30′S — 173°50′E · Fareham Lane, Renwick

Rooted in
the Wairau

Our flagship Fareham Lane vineyard, just out of Renwick, grows the fruit for our top single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, alongside Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Gewürztraminer. Most of our other sites are dotted across the Wairau Valley.

We tend it ourselves — over 300 hectares, sustainably certified, managed hands-on so quality traces right back to the vine.
